The new book,"The Search for Corporal Dow", it's accompanying CD, and this website, will guide you in your travels through history. It all started with a search for the identity of the soldier who used a Sharps Model 59 rifle in the American Civil War. This journey to museums, dusty manuscripts, cemeteries, numerous web sites, along with some great luck and lots of help from others, enabled us to uncover the facts about the owner, from his birth in New York state, his Civil War service, his family and business life and finally to his burial site in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

We invite you to search the links, read a bit about the content of the book, and get started on your own genealogy of veterans and their weapons.....from before the Revolutionary War to the present day.

If you're interested in the genealogy of antique firearms you've come to the right place.
